Embrace the Power of Pressure

Under Pressure

The tactic of shocking our system into transformation using immense pressure is a concept I am here to challenge. “Forcing” transformation is very masculine in principle. The masculine nature is one of forcefulness, charging forward, imposing our will on the world around us. This is a fixture of an antiquated mindset that is on its way out. It is time for us as a collective to embrace the energy of the Age of Aquarius. Anyone who has a prominent Aquarian placement in their natal birth chart, or having close dealings with an Aquarius has probably noticed, Aquarius does not appreciate pressure. This is because Aquarius is a lot like water. Scoop up a pool of water in your hands and everything is just fine, until you apply pressure that is. The faster you attempt to close your hands around the water, the faster it rushes through your fingers. This is a perfect example of the dichotomy between the Divine Masculine and the wounded masculine we know all too well. The Divine Masculine provides containment, not confinement. He provides a safe space for the Divine Feminine to express her nurturing nature and shine her light.

Nature Necessitates Balance

Everywhere we look in nature we find the principle of balance. The delicate dance between the Divine Feminine and the Divine Masculine. It is evident in the tides: the push and the pull, the ebb and flow. This dance is all around us: the Sun and the Moon, Summer and Winter, Fire and Water. This is the dance of life; a dance of balance. We breathe in and we breathe out. Both are equally essential to maintaining the delicate balance necessary for life. The Divine Masculine and the Divine Feminine. We find ourselves today in a state of imbalance. Imagine the catastrophic consequences if the ocean were to suddenly express solely masculine qualities. No delicate dance of balance, no push and pull. The result would be nightmarish. In the Golden Age of Aquarius, balance will be restored. The world is transitioning as we speak. Why cling to old ideas that have contributed to the imbalance wreaking havoc on our world?

As the Pendulum Swings

There is a known feature of society likened to the pendulum effect. The further the pendulum is pulled to the left, the further it swings to the right. This can be observed in nearly every aspect of society. This societal pendulum has been pulled far to the left for millennia. Now it is observable that this pendulum is swinging right with equal measure. Wounded masculinity, masquerading as true Divine Masculine, has corrupted civilization and reigned over countless atrocities. As the pendulum swings, feminine values are on the rise in a march to equality. I have personally heard many within circles of spirituality exclaim that masculinity has led the world to ruin, and now the feminine has awakened and is taking her rightful place on the throne. This attitude has spurred attacks on masculinity as a whole. I argue it would be equally fallacious for the world to be led into a feminine dominated existence. Nature necessitates balance. Masculinity is not the problem. The absence of the Divine Masculine is. The world has been led astray by a false expression of a divine principle; but the answer is not to swing wildly the opposite direction in equal measure. BOTH are necessary for the delicate dance of balance.

Embrace the Inner Dance

The path forward is to embrace the dance. We all have the Divine Masculine and the Divine Feminine within us. Would you forsake half of yourself, half of the Divine? The Age of Aquarius is marked by the restoration of the harmonious dance of balance. We must ebb and we must flow. To be in alignment with this energy means to embrace both tendencies within us. To bring this full circle, attempting to force change or transformation utilizing one aspect, out of balance, is a recipe for failure. We must embody the masculine quality of force and vigor by imposing our will, but we must also embody the feminine quality of nurture and reception. Balance is the key. We need the day just as we need the night. They complement each other and lend each other value and purpose.

Application of Divine Principle

To highlight the message of unity through balance, I will share with you the experience of the first week of my body transformation. In my earlier blog post I stated my intention to set out on a journey to transform my body by treating it as the Temple of the Living God. One of my goals is to lower my body fat percentage while adding muscle and strength. In past attempts of reaching these goals I would charge forward imposing my will with masculine drive, suffocating myself with pressure. Inevitably, I would succumb to the pressure and give up. If I made a simple deviation from the plan such as eating a sweet, or missing a workout, I would amp up the pressure. I would berate myself for the “failure” and forge ahead with even more pressure to succeed.

This first week was different. To my surprise, as I came to the same place I had many times before, a moment of weakness, instead of increasing the pressure or being hard on myself, I yielded. I embodied the feminine principle without realizing I was doing so, and instead, nurtured myself. Instead of berating myself, I offered encouragement, stating that it was about progress not perfection. The result was, even though I had “slipped” on my goals numerous times throughout the week, I actually lost 6.5 lbs. of body fat in one week. There is evidence in the scientific literature pointing to this concept. The more rigidly we adhere to a diet, especially one of restriction, we trigger our body to hold onto calories out of fear of starvation. So, the occasional “slip” can actually expedite your progress if handled with the appropriate mentality. Of course, beating yourself up about it is counter-productive.
